Quartz crystal singing bowls are crafted through a precise and labour-intensive process to ensure their purity and resonance. The purity of the quartz significantly influences the quality of the sound produced. Our quartz crystal singing bowls are produced by high quality quartz crystal, with a 99.99% purity - an advance in quality over the international standard. This produces a sound that is clear, strong, deep, and rich not only therapeutic, but also extremely penetrating.

The selected quartz is heated to extremely high temperatures, at least 3000-4000 degrees Celsius. It is shaped into a bowl form using moulds. Skilled artisans shape the bowls to specific dimensions and designs, using a process of repetitive sanding and polishing to achieve the required sound. The thickness of the bowl, as well as the height and diameter, determine the specific vibrational frequency of the bowl. The newly shaped bowls are allowed to cool gradually to ensure the crystal solidifies without internal stresses or fractures.

After cooling, each bowl undergoes testing to determine its musical note or pitch. This process involves striking the bowl and analysing the sound it produces. Our bowls are selected for their pitch perfection, carefully chosen from batches of bowls for their precision in technical frequency and range. Most bowls are not precise in their frequency, because the bowls cannot be tuned until after they are made and cooled, and so our manufacturer sound artists  take care when creating sets to ensure the various sounds harmonise well. This gives personality and musical individuality to each set, and provides opportunity to discover instruments that match our own personal frequency preference. Before playing the singing bowl,  relax, purify the environment, and wash your hands to express your devotion. Playing the singing bowl is like learning any other skill: practice makes perfect. It is combination of effort, patience, speed, pressure, and angle.

There are various methods to play: A complete circle motion of mallet around a singing bowl is seen as a symbol of completion that normally ends up with where the mallet begins, You can also divide the bowl into three sections and  choose three points to knock. You can use the satellite tapping method, where the outside body of the bowl is knocked six times. Whichever methods you use, Some practitioners suggest that moving the mallet in a clockwise direction may enhance energies associated with manifestation, add energy into to circumstances and repair them, where as  counter-clockwise movements might be linked to releasing or dispersing energy. It's essential to experiment with both clockwise and counter-clockwise movements to determine which direction produces the most resonant and pleasing sound for you. Different bowls may respond differently, and individual preferences can vary.

Also use the mallet gently and never press or tap with a heavy hand. If the bowl is struck too hard, it produces an unpleasant noise and is delicate enough to crack or shatter. Always keep the sound steady and light and let it singing stop naturally. Never be tempted to touch it with your hands to silence the sound. This creates a shock to the vibration which  will destroy the bowl's internal structure., and after a while it will no longer sing!
